Jacob (Jake) M. Steinkemper obtained his Bachelors degree in English Literature from Arizona State University in 1997. He was a member of the ASU baseball team, winning one Pac-10 Championship and earning two trips to the College World Series. The Montreal Expos drafted Jake and he played in the minor leagues in the East and South. After an injury cut his baseball career short, Jake enrolled in Creighton University School of Law in Omaha, Nebraska, earning a Juris Doctor in 2002. He was admitted to the State Bar of Arizona that same year.
In 2003 Jake pursued Masters degree at New York University. While in New York City he worked as an Attorney to the City of New York Board of Elections. Jake appeared as a Board representative in numerous regulatory, legislative, and judicial proceedings. After receiving his Masters in 2005, Jake returned to Arizona to practice law. Although Jake has lived in many places, Arizona is "home". He enjoys the rare distinction of being a Phoenix native, and remembers the "good old days" when the Phoenix Suns were the only professional sports team. Jake spends much of his free time following local sports, and is involved in golf, softball, and bowling leagues. Jake enjoys working out, and traveling with his wife, Molly. Jake and Molly recently became the proud parents of their first child, Shane.
Jake's motto is: "Sports do not build character. They reveal it."
